About

Welcome! Thanks for stopping by to hear a little bit about me. My name is Ceara Poulin, the owner of CP Portraits, LLC. I began my passion for photography as a little girl. I always had a camera, even if it was just the throw away ones. My mom, my biggest fan, would always print every roll of film I used. In 8th grade I knew I wanted it to be my career so I decided on my dream college. In high school I took a few classes and it sealed the deal even more for me, I knew it was exactly what I was destined to do! I graduated from Galway High School in June of 2010, continuing on my education at one of the top photography schools in the world, Hallmark Institute of Photography. After graduating the intense 10 month program in June of 2011, I returned to my home town in Galway. I then started with a company called Lifetouch, taking school pictures around the area. On May 21st of 2013 I decided it was time to start my own business; this is where my journey really began with photography.

I feel that pictures are a beautiful and an important thing to have in life. After we pass away this is what our family will show each other years down the line. It’s not just about the physical images though, it’s also about the time spent together during your session and the memories you make together and with your photographer. When I photograph people I try to build a relationship, not just a business relationship but a friendship too. I like to start to build this relationship before your session so I can help you relax and enjoy your session a little more. Once a session is complete and you’ve ordered your images, you’ve picked them up and gone your separate way, I still try to keep the relationship/friendship with you. That’s the most important thing to me. I love children and all of their stories, so I want to hear about all of their accomplishments. High School seniors, I want to hear about the colleges you’ve been accepted into or that you’ve joined the military and when you’ll be leaving to start your training. I love hearing from my clients and all of their great accomplishments, because you’re not just clients, you’re my friends, you are now apart of my business family! To me it’s not all about the job; it’s also about building a lasting friendship with my clients, because truthfully it’s all about you, you’re the reason my business is here and even exists.   From personal experience, I had my senior pictures taken and I had an amazing time, I remember my photographer getting me to relax and just have fun with everything, and to this day 5 years later, I remember that day and how much fun I had and I’m still in love with my images! I want my clients to have that same feeling every time I photograph you!

I think I stand out from other photographer because like you I am human and I understand that things come up in life. I’m a very understanding person when it comes to scheduling things and I will do my best to accommodate you. As long as you reschedule an hour before your session, I will not charge anything additional. I also try to hold that friendship relationship with my clients long after their session is complete. Although I don’t have my own children, (yet) I have a lot of experience working with children. My youngest brother is 17 year younger than me and I did babysit a lot growing up and even still now. I’ve always loved children and their great growing little personalities. I love what I do because I get to capture memories and images for you to cherish for a lifetime and more. The feeling of knowing I made a lasting impression on you and that you love your images, melts my heart and keeps me going. I live for that moment when a mom cries over their child’s senior pictures because “they are just so beautiful”. I love being able to share my expertise with you!

A few things about myself I’d like to share so you can get to know me a little more, is this is not my only job. I do also have a full time job which does not affect my photography business. Although I have a full time job, I will always do my best to return emails, phone calls, text messages, Facebook message, etc. in a timely manor. It may take more than 10 minutes, but I do my best to respond within a maximum of 24 hours. Family is very important to me, they mean the world to me. I grew up spending a lot of time with my very LARGE extended family, so as an adult I like to continue that, I think it’s important. I have 3 brothers and 2 sisters. On top of spending a lot of time with family I also spend a lot of time volunteering as various things. I’m a very big community oriented person. I am a 4H leader in the Saratoga County Teen Council group. I’ve been involved with the Teen Council for about 10 years now, as both a member and continuing as a leader now. I also volunteer in a scholarship committee, helping organize events throughout the year. I love my tiny community I came from so every opportunity to give back I get, I take full advantage of. I also feel you should know that I’m very trustworthy. I like my clients to feel that they can truly open up to me and tell me if something is wrong. Please don’t ever feel like you can’t open up and be honest with me. As I’ve said before I’m very understanding with things in life and I want to be here to help you.

I’m so grateful you have stopped by to read about me. I can’t wait to work with you and your family and friends! Please feel free to contact me about any questions you may have or check out our FAQ’s page!

Smiles,

Ceara
